HINDU PRAYER

Humble offerings of prayers for the success of the
United Nations.

1. Ōm Ēkam Sat, Viprāh Bahudhā Vadanti.
   The Supreme Truth is One; Spiritually Enlightened Ones (in different religions), Pray and explain It, in various ways.
2. Ōm Viśwāni Dēva Savitar Duritāni Parāsuva,
   Yad Bhadram Tanna Āsuva.
   O Shining Divine Lord, we offer our loving prayers to you, for getting rid of our negative tendencies, from all areas - physical, mental, moral and environmental; and Thou graciously bless us with positive noble qualities such as faith in and love of God, purity in thought, word and deed, and desire to offer always loving service to all living beings with all kindness and humility.
3. Ōm Sam-gacchadhvam sam-vadadhvam, Sam vō
   manāmsi jānatām;
   Dēvā bhāgam yathā pūrvē Sam-jānānā upāsatē.
   Samānō mantrah samitih samānī, samānam manah
   saha-cittamēṣām; Samānah mantram abhi-
   mantrayē vah, samānēna vō haviṣā juhōmi.
   Samānīva ākūtih samānā hṛdayāni vah;
   Samānamastu vō manō yathā vah su-sahāsati.
   O Lord, may we move forward in harmony, in harmony shall we speak, in harmony shall our minds apprehend; so the shining ones of ancient times with united minds achieved their noble goals. We pray, that united be your deliberations, united be your assembly, united be your minds in harmonious understanding; united be your resolutions through friendly deliberations, make your offerings in perfect harmony, and united be your wills, united be your hearts, united be your thoughts, so that you may all be perfectly united for the well being of all and everything concerned for the progress in this planet.
4. Ōm Ā Nō bhadrah Kratavō Yantu Viśwatah.
   We pray that by the grace of the Lord, let noble, strength invigorating thoughts may come to us from all directions; based on which blazing human characters could be built, for the good and welfare of all nations of the world.

We offer the above holy prayers for inspiring all the members of the United Nations, as they open the 60th Session of the General Assembly, on the 13th Sept 2005, in New York, for forging a global consensus on development, security, human rights and UN renewal.
